Why I will now Recommend Heated Room Pilates in Los Angeles to My Chiropractic Patients
Dr. T, Dr. Laila, and Liberty at Heated Room in Los Angeles.
Ok it’s the start of our Wellness Wednesdays and I have to say HOLY COW to this one… you’ll see why. As a chiropractor in Los Angeles, I’m always looking for ways my patients can support their spine, core, and overall wellness outside the office. Recently, I had the chance to take a class at Heated Room Pilates in Los Angeles, and let me tell you… I went in with resistance, but I walked out absolutely HOOKED!
My First Experience at Heated Room Pilates
To be honest, I wasn’t sure I’d like it. Pilates had always been on my “I should try it” list, but something about going into a heated studio made me hesitate. But the moment I walked into Heated Room, I was blown away. The aesthetic was dark, moody, and modern, creating this unique energy that felt sexy, motivating, and inspiring. Even the bathrooms were incredible. The vibe alone gave me a confidence boost before class even started.
Once we began, I realized how fun it was. The reformer, the music, the flow, it all came together in a way that was exciting and challenging at the same time. My instructor (and one of my patients), Liberty, was phenomenal. She knew it was my first time and guided me seamlessly, adjusting springs, explaining movements, and making me feel supported every step of the way.
And the added bonus? I got to go with my Associate, Dr. Laila. We’ve committed to experiencing new growth practices together, whether that’s seminars, workshops, or trying new forms of movement, because we believe the more we expand and challenge ourselves, the more we can bring back to our patients.
Reconnecting With My Body
Growing up as a cheerleader and dancer, I was always deeply connected to my body. But life happens, and over time I forgot what that connection really felt like. During class, Liberty would cue us to move a specific part of our body, and I found myself pausing, realizing how much I had to tune in and consciously reconnect. That kind of body awareness is powerful, and Pilates gives you the space to wake up those connections again.
Why Pilates and Chiropractic Work So Well Together
From a chiropractic perspective, Pilates is one of the best forms of movement you can do for your spine and nervous system. Here’s why:
Core Strength: A strong core supports spinal alignment and reduces stress on the low back.
Flexibility & Mobility: Controlled Pilates movements increase flexibility, improving posture and range of motion.
Mind-Body Connection: Pilates teaches you to move with awareness, which directly supports chiropractic adjustments by helping you hold them longer.
Injury Prevention: By strengthening stabilizing muscles, Pilates reduces strain on joints and minimizes the risk of re-injury.
Circulation & Healing: Heated Pilates adds an extra element, boosting blood flow, loosening tight muscles, and supporting recovery.
I see incredible results when patients combine chiropractic care with Pilates. Adjustments help restore alignment and nervous system function, while Pilates reinforces those corrections through strength, balance, and mobility training. It’s a perfect synergy.
My Takeaway
Walking into Heated Room Pilates, I was hesitant. Walking out, I felt stronger, reconnected, and motivated. Now, I’m completely hooked, ready for more, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to my patients. If you’re in Los Angeles and looking for a way to support your chiropractic care, build strength, and reconnect with your body, I can’t recommend Heated Room Pilates enough.
